Telecom veteran John Duda joins American Broadband as Executive Vice President and COO

Former FairPoint COO brings operating experience to manage next phase of growth

Charlotte, NC: American Broadband Communications (ABB) today announced that John Duda has joined the rural telecommunications company as executive vice president and chief operating officer.

“John brings deep experience in the operation of rural telecommunications companies. He oversaw FairPoint’s growth from 5,000 to 250,000 access lines and that experience makes him the ideal candidate to deliver results from ABB’s operations in our next phase of growth. John understands the challenges and opportunities in delivering high-quality voice and broadband services to customers in very rural markets,” said Patrick Eudy, president and chief executive officer.

“I’m very pleased and excited to be re-united with Pat and to join the American Broadband team in building the kind of advanced, state-of-the-art communications infrastructure that can play such an important role for rural America’s economic vitality and success,” said Duda.

As Chief Operating Officer for FairPoint Communications, Inc., the 15th largest telephone company in the United States, he managed the successful integration of 28 rural local exchange carriers. In his 37-year career in telecommunications, Duda has served in managerial and executive positions for Bell Atlantic, Sprint, and Rochester Tel Mobile and has worked as an independent consultant. He has served on the boards of the Organization for the Promotion and Advancement of Small Telecommunications Companies and the United States Telecom Association in addition to leadership roles in a number of state organizations.
